Hope in despair

Aishwarya was in class I, when her father Ramesh Babu, an engineer in Suryapet, died in a road accident. Having been very close to her father, this sudden loss deeply disturbed Aishwarya and started affecting her education and learning. Her mother Vakula says, "Through out the year, Aishwarya did not show any interest in her studies and used to cry to go to school, she started hating it."

Vakula being a trained teacher herself understood that special care was needed for her child, inorder to get her interest back in school. Upon watching an Indus Academy ad on cable TV, Vakula visited the school at Suryapet. She discussed Aishwarya's situation with the co-ordinator and inquired about the teaching methods and curriculum. She left convinced that learning through Play Way and child centric activities would attract Aishwarya towards learning. This was just what was needed at this stage for her daughter.
Aishwarya joined Indus Academy and started the process of recovery very quickly. She is one of the more active children in her class today. She tries to complete all of her activities and then volunteers to help other children with theirs. "I am surprised to see Aishwarya saying that she will go to school, because last year she used to cry when she was sent to school", says Vakula.

She also admits that Aishwarya now completes all activities by her self like packing her own bag at home, completing home work and doing mathematics. She even discusses every moment of her school day with her mother. Vakula says Indus Academy has changed her child life within month and she is hopeful that her daughter will become a good human being with good values.
